Background

I played a key role in a redesign initiative for an investment portal used by financial advisors, focusing on improving the user experience and implementing new, high-value features. The project involved overcoming challenges like navigating legacy design files and a poorly maintained design system. By establishing a fresh, standardised design system, we significantly improved efficiency, enabling the team to deliver more cohesive and intuitive user interfaces.

Challenges & Solutions

The design challenge was to create an interface that delivered relevant content efficiently while maintaining the sleek, modern aesthetics of the new design system. The collaboration between business, marketing, and development teams resulted in several iterations, with a strong focus on aligning the feature’s user interface to the overall brand vision. Balancing business and marketing needs with the initial vision led to the inclusion of downloadable content options. To navigate delays in content delivery, we executed a phased 'grey launch,' updating the feature as content became available.
